    new info,help,cant get cobra out drive off,rusted shaft from sea water leak

    1988 5.7,upper pivot was worn,letting salt water run on shaft,tried prying outdrive off but can see 'flex plate',coupling? flexing,from inside boat ,trying hydrocloric acid on spline to remove rust, sounds crazy but i think its hardened steel,boat shop said they chain tilt shaft to tree and pull...
