    Do I need new throtle cable?

    I have a 96 90HP V4 Johnson. When I engage the throtle arm it travels quite a bit before i get some acceleration. So I have a short range of speed. I don't believe the cables have ever been changed. Is it time to change the cables or do I need to adjust the cable?

    I have been given a 6HP 6504RC (1975 I think???) Evinrude. Can I adapt a mercury gas tank to work with this motor? Is it as simple as changing the motor fitting on the gas can?

    I have a 1992 90HP 4cyl engine. I've been looking for a set of gauges to put on the boat, but I'm not sure which type to get. I see that guages, in particular the tach is set to work with 2,3,4,5,6 pulse outboards. So how do I know which type fits my engine? And who is has the best price...

    I just bought a 96 90HP Johnson and after installing it on the boat, went out for run at the lake. The motor runs fine, but it does not have a smooth acceleration. It starts slowly and then it jumps into almost full speed. As I push the control arm forward it only seems to engage too far down...
