    18hp 'rude w/ 25hp carb...exceed 18hp max on boat?

    Hey everyone, I just bought an 18hp evinrude (1971) 2-stroke that is equipped with a 25hp carb, apparently bumping the hp up to 25hp. I was told this doesnt change the torque, but just adds more RPM's to the motor, allowing it to get to that 25hp mark... My question is, can I go with a boat...
