    solenoid issues

    how do you determain what part of the solenoid is burning up...i pulled it apart and the copper part that touches the the two big studs looks a little burnt..the coils dont looked burnt at all..thanks

    blowing starter solenoids

    i have a late 70s mercury 70hp 3cyl.. i have went through 3 starter solenoids in 2 weeks..every time i use my boat the solenoid blows..any suggestions also battery dosent seem to be charging i do have tach signal so i dont think the rectifier is bad..thanks

    low rpm

    hello..i have a 17 ft aluminum fish ski model deep v..with a 78 merc 70 hp with a 13x15p prop..i am only hitting 4200 rpm @ 28 mph @ wot am i way over propped or could it be somthing else..engine seems to run great..if i go down in pitch i will lose mph..maybee this engine is just to small for...

    need help with wiring

    hello..i installed new tach..it zeros when you turn the key..but no signal from the brown wire..what do i need to replace..i think the altinator is working..i disconected the battery and it still runs..the motor is a 78 merc 700..thanks

    tach

    78 merc 700..i hooked up tach ign..ground turned key and goes to 0 like it is suppose to..hooked send to the gray..and nothing..tried brown and nothing..tried orange and tach seems to work..but it only hits about 3600..what is the orange wire..and 3600 seems to low..thanks

    hello..i have a 78 merc 700..i hooked up my new tach..ign..ground..send to gray wire and nothing tried brown wire nothing..tried orange wire and it works but only runs about 3600 at wot..what is the orange wire..and 3600 seems to low of a rpm..thanks

    maximum hp rating

    I have a 1989 spectrum 1700 fish ski boat i can't find the maximum tag..and i am wondering what maximum horse power i can go up to..it has a 70 horse now..and i think it is to small for the boat..by my self i can get about 28 miles an hour..but anymore weight it drops way down..please help
