    hydraulic jack plates on a hurricane deck boat

    I have a hurricane sundeck 237 deck boat and am intersted in installing a hydraulic jack plate, but I am told from manufacturer that they do not recommend that and they would not tell me a good reason not to. Does anyone have an opinion of why and could a jackplate harm my transom?
