    5.7 stalls when put in gear

    1997 5.7 efi starts fine runs a little ruff but stalls when put in drive or reverse, the throttle was stuck now it moves foward and backwards but cuts the engine out in either direction

    gas in oil

    clockwise or counter clockwise

    i just saw the impeller post was going to answer but thought better of it....i have an 88 5.7L merc alpha1 when i installed my impeller it seemed to be a little large so i had to turn it to get it in....now should the splines be bent clockwise or counterclockwise
