What is the part called that the power steering connects to?

One more thing, mine is an SX but I am not sure which sub-model. Would one listed for an SX-C fit all the various SX models? Or would it need to be specific to whatever mine is? I don't know because the boat is 4 hours away. Won't see it again until Memorial Day weekend.

What is the part called that the power steering connects to?

I have the seal kit and plan on rebuilding the old one. I just don't have a good clean work area to mess with hydraulics and seals.

What is the part called that the power steering connects to?

I figured it would. Actually, I wish I had yanked it before even starting to replace the hydraulic cylinder. I broke the bracket while trying to drive in those big screws that don't actually screw into the cylinder, but just provide pivot points. Doing it all blindly, with a 50+ year old back...

What is the part called that the power steering connects to?

Looked it up on ebay, and you are correct. The specific part I need is called Inner Transom Shield. Again, thanks for the help!

What is the part called that the power steering connects to?

Cannot post a pic because boat is stored 4 hours away. Yes it is the Volvo in the Glastron, I will look up that part and verify that it is what I am looking for. Thanks for the feedback.

What is the part called that the power steering connects to?

At the very back of the boat connected to the fiberglass at the very back, in an I/O, there is a circular-ish cast aluminum ring that the power steering ram bolts into. I broke it! what is that called so I can start looking for a replacement.

Leaky power steering ram. Replace or rebuild?

Phenomenal help!!! Thanks a bunch, dude! Anyone else want to chime in on if they have had any luck with using a rebuild kit?

Leaky power steering ram. Replace or rebuild?

Not a question of price, but a question of "Does the rebuild kit WORK?" I have absolutely no problem with the price, or the amount of time. But I do not want to spend both to find that the rebuild kits don't work, or only work for half a season.

Leaky power steering ram. Replace or rebuild?

Volvo Penta 4.3L and the power steering ram has been leaking. I have shopped for replacements, but they go around $700. I keep coming across a rebuild kit. Is the rebuild worth the hassle, or would I be better off in the long run by buying a new ram?

Trim clicks, but working less and less each day.

I think I fixed it. There are two relays near the trim motor, I pulled them, found ONE at the auto parts store, so stabbed it into one of the relay ports (where there was an aftermarket one previously), and everything seems to be working well, so far. Will know tomorrow for sure after we put...

Trim clicks, but working less and less each day.

Great idea! I was so frustrated at the time that I didn't even think about that.

Trim clicks, but working less and less each day.

Sadly, my boat is 4 hours away, so I won't get a chance to run any tests on it until I get back out there this weekend. I can put a jumper on the trim motor and test it that way, as well. At least to cancel out the motor as being the culprit, then work my way back to the wires and relays.

Trim clicks, but working less and less each day.

I originally thought it was the button, so I replaced it. Now it works sometimes, seems like it works better on land or on the ramp (cool engine), but have not confirmed this 100% Yesterday, I had to tow home with the engine only about 6" off the ground!!! While I am in the engine bay, my...

Steering intermittently hard/pulls to left, and leaky ram.

Makes sense. The ram needs to be replaced, period. We just have a short boating season up here, and don't want to start a repair that could keep me out of the water for 2-3 weeks. So I will wait until September and tear it down.

Steering intermittently hard/pulls to left, and leaky ram.

I am assuming these two issues are connected. 2003 Glastron 185 with V/P engine and outdrive. Been noticing steering fluid in bilge for about a year. Isolated the leak as coming from the power steering "ram", so wrapped a towel around it for the rest of the year to keep oil out of the bilge...

Small amount of oil in bilge after a day on the water.

When I get out of the water and pull the plug, just a slight amount of oil is appearing as a sheen on top of the water coming out. The only water that comes out is what I bring in from melted ice, entering the boat wet, etc. But there is a slight oil leak somewhere in the engine that is dumping...

Boat shuddered twice, while turning sharp, at idle. Whassup?

2003 Glastron GX185 with 190 hp Volvo and Volvo outdrive. We haven't used the boat much in the past two years, maybe twice or three times per summer. This last trip, we had another couple with us, when we are usually just the two of us and the dog, not sure if this is important info or not...

Impeller o-ring leaking, 2nd time this season. Thicker o-ring?

Beginning of the summer season, I replaced all rubber hoses, impeller, and leaky o-ring. Used it 3 times this summer, and today, after 2 months sitting, the o-ring is leaking again. Should I look for a slightly thicker 0-ring? Or should I look at some other cause of the problem? Just a slight...

1986 175 hp Johnson. Please show a picture of that front bolt to release lower unit

My dad is working on dropping his lower unit. Some linkage failed and blew something out, and cracked his lower unit housing. He is trying to get the lower unit off to assess the damage. But he has removed all the bolts he can see, including the one under the zinc, but we are hearing about a...

How to torque down 6 outdrive nuts without marring paint?

Just painted my outdrive, did winter maintenance, and reinstalled, and mess the paint up while torquing the 6 nuts that hold the outdrive on. Will have to sand down and repaint the upper half. Does anyone have a method for torquing it down without the universal socket joint marring the paint up?
