    re-gear or re-prop???

    i have a pre alpha mercruiser 120/140 out drive that went to a 3.0l i4 but would like to put it on my 302 v8 im pretty sure the v8 runs a 1.50:1 ratio and i think the 3.0l runs a 1:90ish:1 ratio, but since im not too savy on outdrives idk if i can even re-gear the 120/140 to handle a v8 or...

    would a 3.0l be enough??

    im restoring a 24ft winner cabin cruiser that had a siezed mercruiser 302 that is too far gone to be a decent fix so i found a new mercruiser 3.0l with outdrive but now im second guessing if the 3.0l would even be enough to get the boat going.. im not looking for speed boat, and not going to be...
