Possible the water pump is frozen?!?! Winter time operating :(

Here's the story... I use my 87' 85hp Force as my duck boat transportation in big water w/ big loads. It has been pretty cold here in the 20s,30s, and bairly low 40s. There was snow on the ground since last saturday that still hasn't melted yet. I ran the boat Saturday without a problem it...

    Starter won't disengage... AT ALL!?!?!

Re: Starter won't disengage... AT ALL!?!?! Well finally got to go check the solenoid (between the rain and work!!)... it only had 0.2 OHM between the two big posts so I guess it's bad. One more issue: When I looked online for a replace, mine looks nothing like the one it's supposed to be...

    Starter won't disengage... AT ALL!?!?!

So my boat loves me not again.... 87 85hp Force: The boat has ran fine all month, I've had it out every weekend and a few days during the week (duck hunting!!), UNTIL TODAY: My starter motor wouldn't stop spinning this morning? I didn't realize this until after a short 10 minute boat ride...

I have 2 props and neither are ideal... Why?!?

Here goes... I have a 16.5 foot alum flat bottom, 87 85hp force, few hundred pounds of gear. It had a 13x15 SS prop on it when I bought it. It ran wot at 4500 rpm. Seemed odd to me, so I found a 13x17 SS and now the rpms are real high no matter trim and the motor doesnt sound like it turning...

    Valvebody Check Valves are stuck?

I read that it is a press fit and boiling in water helps. My question is: Is it a straight thru press fit (all pieces can be pressed from one side and all come out the other) or do they have to come out their "own" side (they only come out on the side they are on)? I read some pull them out...

Dual Battery w/ perko to stereo: where does the ground go?

I plan to run my stereo from the starter battery when the motor is running and from the deep cycle when parked (hence the perko).... where is the best spot to run the ground wire (for amp and deck) to without having noise interference!?!?! I've read that your ground should go back to the...

Is it ok to mount the battery in the front of the boat?

As the title says... due to weight purposes is there any drawback to mounting two batteries in the front of an aluminum boat (moving from the back)? Seems with all my "little" (heavy!) upgrades I've added a few 100 lbs to the very back of the boat! I'd like to move them... just wondering the...

Boat left me at the ramp: leaking fuel + poor idle

I recently changed my fuel setup from (1) 6 gal to (2) 12 gal tanks. I added a 3 way valve also. The boat started and ran ok on the muffs in the yard. I did notice when I went to put the boat up the bottom carb was leaking quite a bit of fuel after it was shut off. I tried to sneak out...

Newbie HELP PLEASE! Tach issue and gas leaking when tilted up?

Hi all!! I've read and read... and found lots of questions but no answers: Question 1 - My tach sits on zero, stays on zero. It's a "new" faria tach. Vari pole (set on 20 pole/#4). Powered directly from the battery (for now), grounded to a terminal block then wired back to the battery neg...
