    What Year Is This Motor? Any Ideas?

    I am thinking of buying this motor, boat and trailer. The woman selling it does not know the year of the motor, as it belonged to her father. Can anyone tell the year by looking at the cowling and graphice? Its a 7.5 hp Thunderbolt.

    New Starter Works fine when tested but wont spin when on engine.

    I just got a new starter for my 1979 Mercruiser 3.0. When tested the started works fine. Even when in the boat and tested with the actual wires it works great. When i install the starter to the engine the starter wont spin, just clicks. I am able to turn the engine over by hand with a wrench...
