    I am looking at replacing my 1990 60 hp Johnson 2 stroke with a 2001 Honda 50 hp. Does anyone know will the Johnson throttle and shifter work with the Honda? I know the wiring will be different just wondering about the shifter. TIA

    just a thought if your toons have a pipe plug on the top. Could you install a small pump with a suction hose going into the toon to suck out any water. like a bilge pump.

    Thanks I am going to try changing plugs and then go from there. I have ran it about 30 hours with out changing plugs. I am not sure about the tell tale hose I did put a new pump in this spring and I am getting a good stream from the tell tale hose.

    The bottom is clean I am going to mark the hub this week. this is the first year I have had this boat. It came from about 3000 ft elevation. I wonder if a different pitch prop would help. If I remember the prop that is on it is a 17 pitch. I dont know what to change it too for the higher...

    I have not tested the spark yet. the compression is 110 on all 3 cyl I have this boat in a slip for about a month when I first put in the lake it would do about 15 mph now only 5. there is no miss or cough when it is running. WTO or at idle.

    does anyone know where and what jets do I need to put in my 1990 60 hp Johnson. I will be running at about 8900 feet elevations. and where can I get some. It doesn't run as good as it does at lower elevations. Thanks

    A little follow up needed. When I check the float hight do I messure with spring in the needle compressed or messure it with the float just sitting on the spring? I set it with it sitting on the spring no change.

    My 84 mercruiser 120 carb runs good but I'm getting black soot from the exhaust It will idle on muffs but on the lake it's bogs and dies. I've rebuilt the carb new cap rotor and points to and plugs I don't know why the black soot and how to fix it

    Having about the same problem mine is a 120 hp 4 cyl. I rebuilt the carb new cap and rotor and points. When mine idles I get black soot coming out. It idles on muffs but on the lake it bogs down and dies. Help
