i plan on firing the engine for the first time (just got the boat) is there anyuthing special i need to check on before firing it up... i am obviously new to boating and i found alot of info on here ... love this website...

i have an issue.. just bought a boat has a 85 johnson 1972 and not sure it runs gonna get a battery this weekend. how can i tell if motor works good? any help gladly taken... i bought the part from bass pro shops for engine testing for water intake.. does a trash can work better?
