    Elgin Recoil Rope

    Just picked up a 1951/52 Elgin 7.5 - Model 571.58751. The pull rope is completely missing. I have taken the whole starter assembly on top and cannot figure out how to install a new rope. Any thoughts?

    Advice for a 14' x 38" Flat Bottom

    I just purchased the above mentioned craft with trailer and rigged with a 1967 Evinrude 9.5 horse. I know that a flat bottom of this size may be a bit dangerous on a larger lake (which I am only 10 miles from 2 of the biggest lakes in TX). What size lake (acre) would I be better off frequenting...
