Just upgraded to factory new Alpha Gen II drive system (2001 MCM 250) which I am told incorporates digital trim senders. The shop foreman seemed to think that the digital sender would not be compatible w/ my old analog trim position gauge. Mercruiser seems to imply (but not specifically state)...
I am replacing a raw water cooled MCM 228 (with pre-alpha drive) to a full closed cooling MCM 250 and Gen 2 Alpha drive. I operate in salt water, the boat is a 1976 Wellcraft F-21 ("Airslot"). The "new" (lightly used) engine previously used blocking plates for the drive mounted sea water...
