I ya. You have slide rails and rear supports too. Nice. I finally got one last year and now I won’t be without one.

Under floor would only hold about 5cu ft of foam. I’m going to put more in under the casting decks.

It’s resting on the top of the transom right now. I can raise it. It has clamps and bolts. I can only go an 1” or so higher then the clamps won’t work. Maybe I can use six bolts and not use the clamps. Would that be ok?

Looks like the engine sits 1.5” low. Is it better to put a block of wood on the transom and move it up. How bad is it to leave it low?

Bought more foam. Plan to shove it in as I lay the floor. Hope to get 6.5 cu ft in. Got seat pedestals and steering system. Made a console and transom out of plywood. Let’s get this done.

The foam I took out was about the same as I have in there now. It’s 5cu ft. I don’t have room for much more. Maybe 1cu ft more. I’d like to have all the flotation below the floor as it’s the lowest spot. I might be able to put small pieces in the gaps as I put the floor down. It seems like...

Two hrs more. Got it upside down and started on sanding. Hard to get the sealer off it just goes soft and clogged the wire wheel. Seems like scrapping it off is better.

    1978 SS 16 restoration

I wouldn’t tig any holes. Just put a rivet in. Some places I just use pop rivets. First thing I’d do is a leak test. Then you’ll know if it’s worth while.

Did the seams on the inside with coat it. Easy to do. Then I sprayed the inside walls. About 2hrs. Work.

    StarCraft kingfisher rebuild

Worked a few hours on the boat today. I had to drill out about 50 screws and bolts. Steel ones rusted on. Also sanded the gunnel and inside of the boat. I’m at about 8hrs total now and it’s just about ready to have the coat it. I figure 100hrs total to splash. Pic of the junk I took off.

I’m going to move the console forward 8”? Then seat to my left will have flush mounts in the floor. One spot 24”? Farther back from console seat. This will put that person in contact with Downrigger on his side. (All that is because the boat is narrow) No live well just a fish bag. Front...

It’s leaking about five drops a minute at the front keel. I guess I’ll coat it on the inside. Biggest thing is to be able to fix any future leaks from the outside because once i put the floor in I might never take it out. I might use spray foam because I’d like how solid the floor would be.
