    Beep-beep-beep while waking...

Everytime I cross a good sized wake my '88 Mercury 135 gives me the beep-beep-beep of the oil warning system. I replaced the cap on the engine mounted oil reservoir and blew out the oil lines with an air compressor. The engine reservoir stays fairly full and the motor smokes plenty on startup...

    Loose shift lever

The shift lever on my '88 135 has gotten very loose. It's a Quicksilver unit with a tilt/trim<br />switch and a Trailer button on the lever. Anyone know how to tighten this lever? The Clymer manual isn't much help.

    Tilt Trim & Winter Storage

I recently purchased a 1988 Sea Ray with a Merc 135, this is my first boat with Electric Tilt/Trim. Should I leave it up or down over the Winter storage period? I know when it's down there is pressure in the cylinders, will this tend to blow out the seals over the long storage period? Any advice...

135 Merc has no "Warning Horn"

I recently bought an '88 Sea Ray with a 135 Merc V6 and there is no warning horn. I looked under the dash and didn't see anything. How hard is this system to re-install? I assume the sensors are still on the motor, if so, where should I look? I'm still looking for a good manual for this motor.

    Best Repair Manual?????

I just bought a repair manual for my '88 V6 135 at a local retail outlet and it's going back in the morning. It's very vague and covers about 500 different motors (in my opinion not very well). I'd like something more specific. Any suggestions?

Merc 135 Gets Hot Pulling Skiers

I just bought a 1988 Searay with a 135 Merc (my first Merc) and it has a temp guage. Telltale puts out good water all the time and eng runs cool at high and low speeds but at 20MPH and 3000RPM temp shoots up to 190 degrees (usually runs at 145). Any ideas? Is there a thermostat on this motor?
