Do they make boat nav light wiring harness kits?

But nothing already made up? Like pre-done? Like a trailer wiring kit?

Do they make boat nav light wiring harness kits?

Or even boat wiring harnesses for nav lights, maybe a bilge pump, one or two accessory switches? The reason I ask is that my dad just "inherited" his neighbors old aluminum boat when the old man died. Well, before he died, he took EVERYTHING out. It is a HULL, and ONLY a hull. His wife is...

    Engine steering wobble

No, it's not wobbling and shaking when idling, its when its underway there is slop in the steering and its at the motor, nothing else is moving. That's my point.

    Engine steering wobble

There is nothing else to see. Nothing else is moving. You can't SEE anything else moving.

    Engine steering wobble

I bought a 40hp off of Ebay and it runs like a top, but the steering is loosey goosey. It's not the cable or the little steering arm that's moving, its something in the engine. It can wobble even with all other steering components remaining stationary. Anyone know if this can be repaired easily...

    1997 Johnson 40 no spark

Well if you cut the spark you don't burn the gas. It's not rocket science.

    1997 Johnson 40 no spark

I didn't think so. But I know my dads Mariner 125 that's a 95 model has cylinder deactivation at idle to save fuel. I wasn't sure if this thing could as well.

    1997 Johnson 40 no spark

I disconnected the black and yellow striped wire (the kill switch circuit) and the engine started. But then it was able to be manually stopped with the switch. (shouldn't be able to with the kill switch circuit disconnected.) Then it was almost impossible to get started again, and with an inline...

    1997 Johnson 40 no spark

This one has me stumped. I just installed the used outboard I bought off of Ebay. We decided to use 50:1 gas oil even though it has VRO just to make sure the VRO is working before we go to straight gas. Well the engine missed and ran terrible and had so much oil it was unbelievable. But slowly...

Issues mounting this new (old) outboard

Can't. They're fiberglassed in place. And it's a little Pleasure Kraft stick steer. 13'.

Issues mounting this new (old) outboard

I seem to have gotten in over my head. I've been having a 28 on this little boat for almost 30 years. On a whim, looking at Ebay, I found a 97 40hp that looks almost brand new and runs as well as it looks. So I bought it and paid over 700 to have it shipped from Cali. That's the least of my...

Can someone identify this rubber grommet?

Yes you are correct. It was a seal for a wiring harness. How it fell out is anyones guess though.

Can someone identify this rubber grommet?

I just purchased a used 1997 Johnson 40 and where we had it sitting, before moving it, this fell off from somewhere. We don't know where it came from. Any ideas what this is or where it goes?

    Companies who ship outboards

DHL said they don't provide this service.

    Companies who ship outboards

I just purchased an outboard from someone on Ebay who won't ship it. I can't get anyone to tell me good companies to try to get quotes from for shipping. I need them to build a crate to put it in. It's got a little stand its on but it's not good for across the country shipping. Anyone know of...

    1990 javelin 378 fs

You see where the hole to the right of plug is? It has "sensitivity" on it with a bunch of lines around it? That's where the switch to turn the flasher on and off would have gone. That switch also adjusts the sensitivity of the signal received. Of course yours has none so it's just an empty hole.

    1990 javelin 378 fs

My dad owns the exact same boat. Do you mean the plug between the 4 switches on the bottom? If so that's where his trolling motor plugs into. I can see the trolling motor plug on the bottom left side of that photo. If you're talking about the big black round thing that's where a flasher would...

Can electrical power be pulled from a 25hp Merc outboard?

This is actually bad advice. Solder is ok for repairing electrical connections on things that don't move, but it is FORBIDDEN on things that vibrate. Solder becomes brittle over time with vibrations, so CRIMP connectors are what is recommended. If you notice on your outboard you don't see solder...

    Very high resting battery voltage

I've never heard of this. I went to charge my deep cycle battery on my boat and it showed 14.2 volts and it's been months since it was used. It was not hooked up to anything. What could cause this? When I used it in March for spring fishing it had normal capacity and worked fine. It's about 9...
