    '69 55hp Johnson running issue?

    Is intake silencer required to run wide open throttle on 69 55hp Johnson? engine completely rebuilt,carbs rebuilt. Intake silencer was not with this engine. When we put the boat in the water, not getting full throttle rpm with engine cover on. Runs at higher rpm with cover off. Any thoughts?

    1970 60hp Johnson Outboard Running issue

    Motor will not run wide open throttle without removing hood. Idles fine, starts fine, runs fine up to low rpm. Any ideas on what I should be looking at here?

    1970 60hp Johnson trouble going into forward

    Have been into the lower unit, cleaned filter to gain reverse. This engine had not been in the water since I rebuilt it. Starts, runs & shifts fine on land with muffs on hose.     60hp Johnson Shifting Issue

    I have rebuilt a 70 model 60hp Johnson outboard. Shifts fine in the yard with muffs on but put in the water for the first run today, won't go into forward. Any thoughts?
