    Where to buy nylon seals?

    Where can I buy a handful of the nylon drain plug seals so that I always have them for lower unit oil changes? My marine store only has the plug and washer together for $2.99 EACH!!!! I just want the seals!

    Lower drain seals

    I've learned that you should replace the lower unit plug seals FIRST if you find evidence of water in the lower gear unit. Why aren't rubber o'ring's used instead of the nylon washers on the plug bolts? Does the oil or water deteriorate them? Just curious if anyone knows.
