    Reed petals

I didn't know why up or down would make a difference but I never gave it a thought about it being under that retainer. Good observation. I'm gonna go with that. Yes, the old reeds were fine, but since I was in there and had the parts. Never hurts to have new parts. Thank you sir.

    Reed petals

Yes, like I said before, I had gone ahead and bought new ones just in case and since I had them, might as well put them in. Thanks

    Reed petals

The odd hole goes over that channel I'm pointing at. Either on the top or bottom. Maybe it doesn't make a difference and that's why it doesn't really show in the manual.

    Reed petals

I was unsure what was causing my issues. I just came across something that mentioned reeds could cause the same symptoms. So I thought I would check them. Before tearing into it I just went ahead and bought new ones so I would have them on hand. The biggest mistake I made was not paying...

    Reed petals

No pictures at the moment. Not sure why I need to explain why I'm changing them but here it goes I'm not a professional but I'm willing to work on anything. The motor "sneezes" at low idle. After researching, I found that the reeds could be the problem. I didn't want to tear it apart and not...

    Reed petals

I am replacing the reed petals on 2008 50hp Mercury 2 stroke. What is the direction of the 3rd hole on the petal. I'm assuming it goes on the right side over the small open channel, but does on the top or the bottom? Thanks

    Mercury Throttle Control

I was having problems with my transfer button on my Mercury outboard Gen 1 design throttle control. I took everything apart, cleaned and figured out one of the issues but Im having issues getting it back together to work properly. Does anyone have a manual or a clear schematics that I can see...

    Seawall drsinage

Not sure which page to put this but here it goes. Im doing some repairs on my steel seawall in Michigan. I have dug out to put gravel behind the wall to help with drainage. Do I need to put drain tile in? If water lecel rises, it wont do any good and if I raise the tile, it becomes above the...

    Bowing steel seawall

Yes it is bowing out. I have done some other work behind this wall and I realized the backfill was mostly dirt and no drain tile. I was hoping to not make it too big of a project, but I think the right thing to do is dig out, then maybe be able to pull the wall back, put in the deadman, lay a...

    Bowing steel seawall

First thing Im going to do is dig down and see what was used. If they're Ibeams, as someone that does everything themselves, I dont believe I will be able to drive them down. Im just wanting to here what someone else may have done with success.

    Bowing steel seawall

I do agree. Ive done alot of research on this matter but you never know what kind of ideas and experience is out there. Iboats has never let me down yet.

    Bowing steel seawall

Sandy soil. Yeah, The beam probably is best. Im a diy'er so not sure I can drive one down. I think maybe for starters Im going to follow the other tiebacks to see what theyre anchored too.

    Bowing steel seawall

Throwing this out there to hopefully find someone in the know. I have a steel seawall with tiebacks that were installed too far apart. I now have an issue of the wall bowing out right between 2 tiebacks. Im going to put some more tiebacks in and my question is-- If I connect the tiebacks to...

    Cutting out and stalling

You guessed it. I have a manual from marine engines.com. I read elsewhere that carbon in the piston grooves contributes to low compression. Regardless, it probably wont hurt to try to decarbon. As far as everything else, Im just drawing straws to find the issue and Im very grateful for...
