    I had the old 2 wire. Went ahead and replaced it with the new 3 wire. Still didn't work. Popped in a new coil and it fired up. Sounds like the sensor was a ticking time bomb anyway though.

    So I'm trying to diagnose an ignition problem. I read the sticky post at the top. There is a link to how thunderbolt ignitions work. It has troubleshooting steps but none of the images work. Can anyone update it??

    One saw it in a picture it does look pretty crusty. Can't tell when it's way in the back of the motor in the bilge. I'll just order a new one and clean my connections. Will update

    Can you replace the big nut on a steering cable? My tilt tube snapped off inside the nut and I can't get out. Can I cut off and replace the nut or should I buy a new cable?
