    Temp gauge issues

    Hi all, I just recently got a boat with a 5.7 Mercruiser. It seems my temp gauge is not working. I checked the resistance in the temp sensor and it shows 700 ohms, which seems to be what the chart says it should be. When I turn on the ignition, the gauge needle actually goes slightly backwards...

    Hi, I am looking for service manual for Mercruiser 5.7 1988. I apologize if this has already been answered somewhere else, but I have gone through the forum and can't seem to find any links. Clymer's manual on their site only go to 1995. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
