    96 johnson 150

I have a 1996 Evinrude 200 Ocean Pro and it only has 105 to 100 psi. It also runs like a Tiger pushing my old 21' Dixie WA to 43Mph. : )

94 Johnson venom 200 Bogging in forward

Check the magnets on the inside of the flywheel while you have it off. I had a bunch come loose. They are only epoxied to the flywheel and can and will come loose and move out of place.

94 Johnson venom 200 Bogging in forward

Is the timing base moving freely? It should start to move before the throttle plates open. I had one get sticky from goo leaking down from a stator once.

Johnson 50hp swap to a Johnson 110hp Possible?

"DIRECTLY SWAP" is what the guy asked. I would assume that would mean the bolt holes too. What's wrong with you guys?

Johnson 50hp swap to a Johnson 110hp Possible?

Yeah, all the guy asked was will it bolt up and that racerguy seems to be obsessed with taking and posting compression numbers.

1988 Bayliner Capri 2.3 ford engine

If it's a freshwater boat then the exhaust manifold and riser are worth a few of hundred bucks as they are NLA and the Cobra outdrive a couple too, but it's limited to just the 2.3 engine. For the rest of the boat and engine, drop it all off at the landfill.

    Rebuilding Carb kits advice needed

So I found the OEM kits with floats for about the same price as the Sierra kits without and will go with them. I guess it can't hurt to replace the floats while I've got them tore down.

    Rebuilding Carb kits advice needed

Hi all, I'd like to rebuild the carbs on my '96 Evinrude 200 Oceanpro during the off season. I see OEM kits with new floats and also aftermarket kits without the floats for a little less money. Should I bother replacing the floats when rebuilding if there's nothing wrong with the old ones...

1987 Bayliner Capri 1950 OMC Cobra bowrider starter bolt broke off.

So maybe the starter is held in place with just Two bolts from now on and not worry about getting it out. : )

1987 Bayliner Capri 1950 OMC Cobra bowrider starter bolt broke off.

I think removing the engine might be a bit much. There's got to be a way to change out the starter without removing the engine. Just because a bolt broke off shouldn't stop the starter from coming off. I'm remembering an old OMC 3.0 would have three bolts, two on the bottom.

    Best boat lettering removal?

I own a small sign shop and we do custom boat graphics a lot. Today's digitally printed vinyl like 3M Controltac will come off using a little heat and leave little to no adhesive residue. Older lettering jobs that are just applied cheap vinyl can be a challenge to remove from time to time...

    Airbrushing graphics?

Digitally printed Vinyl is the way to go. I own a small sign shop and we've done quite a lot of custom boat graphics. They will last for years and are removable if you sell the boat later on down the rd. If there's no local sign shop around you may find some stock graphics online.

    Adding ballast to the bow?

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Nobody has butchered up anything on this boat. The fuel line and wires coming from under the deck and the bilge are routed up thru the factory fittings. The bilge access hatch is factory too as verified by a picture of one other outboard version of this...

    Adding ballast to the bow?

Definitely on a bracket. It's not a flotation style bracket, it's open on the top and also a hole in the bottom of it. The deck drains go thru the transom and into the bracket.

    Adding ballast to the bow?

The drain is just a brass thru hull tube that the plugs are sitting in. They are expanding out into the tube for a friction fit. The transom itself seems pretty solid to me. With that 450lb engine tilted up hanging two ft off it and me jumping up and down on the end of it, surprisingly nothing...

    Adding ballast to the bow?

The deck drains are just horizontal holes thru the transom that empty into the inside of the bracket. They don't drain down below the deck then out. I have them plugged on the outside of the transom (Inside the bracket) and also on the inside of the boat with 1 1/8" compression plugs. They don't...

1988 Bayliner Capri with a 2.3L OMC Ford cobra

Any good quality Marine grease will work. Amsoil and Lucas are good.

1988 Bayliner Capri with a 2.3L OMC Ford cobra

Hoses and belts are just Ford 2.3l engine parts. Those engines went in a lot of Pinto's and Ranger trucks.
