    OMC ball gear pre -1973

    I just replaced my upper gear housing with a pre 73 OMC electric shift and the ball gear is worn... and all the stores i find only have the post 73 ball gear and it looks different where it goes on shaft... anyone know who sells the older ball gears? or could I just flip over the worn one since...

    I recently purchased a 1974 Fiberform boat with no motor and a electric shift OMC outdrive... I installed a 305 chevy motor and have everything hooked up and motor runs fine...<br /><br />when i shift in gear i can still turn prop by hand but the prop seems to have some resistance to turning in...
