    1998 mercury 40hp fuel recirculation check valve removal for press-in type

    What is the best way to remove the press-in external check valve located at the top of the crankcase cover? The reed plate has been removed, good access now but not much to grab on to .. special tool required ? any tips much appreciated ..thanks
