Ok I may have spoke too soon. Could someone confirm for me that this is the correct manual? https://www.ebay.com/itm/314599029488?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=JjYrbaX4T1-&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=DriJAJlpRTO&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY 90-97658-3

1988 Magnum II / XR4 - Looking for factory service manual

Hey guys, I have the classic 'burned red wire' on the idle stabilizer module on this guy and need to remove it before I get hit in the back of the head with a rod cap, and I'd like to be able to reference the factory manual for the link and sync prodcedure.. I cannot for the life of me find a...

Mariner Mag II Oil Warning Module - bad?

I'll admit having the warning module itself die seems suspect, but I noticed that immediatly when turning the key. There is supposed to be a beep. No beep, I didn't turn the key? What else could go wrong that I wouldnt be alerted or have forthought enough not to run the engine? There is a...

Mariner Mag II Oil Warning Module - bad?

Yeah I did that, but I mean by checking some kind of specific voltage or resistance output on the module, which doesn't appear possible. What you are saying to do only tests the float, which works fine. Either way, still no tone from the module. As far as removing it, the gear on the crank...

Mariner Mag II Oil Warning Module - bad?

"When I ground the tan wire from the Oil warning module, I get solid beep" Correct. Other tan is what looks like a temp probe in the port side head. I had that disconnected already as I thought that might be the cause of my constant beep.

Mariner Mag II Oil Warning Module - bad?

No test beeps with key on. When I ground the tan wire from the Oil warning module, I get solid beep. I pulled the trigger on the ebay module. Will be here next week.

Mariner Mag II Oil Warning Module - bad?

I am thinking I have a bad oil warning module on my Mariner Mag II 150hp. Serial Number 0B250842. I was trying to diagnose a constant warning tone when key was on and while running, now I have no tone at all. (No beep when key is put to run). So far I have tested shorting the tan wire on...

Mariner Magnum II / Merc XR4 Trim cylinders - should retract with motor down on tilt lock?

Thanks Fazt. Should I be able to manually cause (with force) the trim cylinders to retract with the fluid drained and the pressure release open? Or are they going to be locked in the out position with the tilt cylinder fully extended? Appreciate the responses guys. I've been lurking on...

Mariner Magnum II / Merc XR4 Trim cylinders - should retract with motor down on tilt lock?

Ok got it. On (some?) Yamahas if you set the motor down on the tilt lock and keep running it down the trim cylinders retract. Just seemed like it was truggling to trim all the way down so was not sure if there was a slowly developing issue.

Mariner Magnum II / Merc XR4 Trim cylinders - should retract with motor down on tilt lock?

1988 Mariner Magnum II 150. I am unsure if the trim cylinders are supposed to retract when setting the engine down on the tilt lock and running the tilt down. I have heard of this procedure for example on Yamaha's, however the trim cylinders on my outboard do not retract in this manner. The...

1960 Evinrude Lark II 40hp cam follower not contacting cam?

Ah yeah was looking at wrong figure, thanks. Currently the fuel saver rod is the only reason the cam follower (and thus the butterfly valve) moves at all while adjusting the throttle, so it must be completely out of whack. The eccentric bushing seems to have almost not effect on the...

1960 Evinrude Lark II 40hp cam follower not contacting cam?

Ok so it sounds like I just need to take up the difference by adjusting the cam plate on the armature. Any idea how much adjustment room there is? Because it seems like I'd need to move it out by Almost half an inch? Photo attached but perspective is wonky.

1960 Evinrude Lark II 40hp cam follower not contacting cam?

über-novice here with what I hope is a simple question. I am desperatly trying to figure out how to properly set the timing on this engine, however the descriptions in the Seloc manual, as well as threads on iBoats have me concerned I am missing something important. The cam follower on my...
