No oil pressure on 97 Monterey with 5.7

He seemed to take pretty good care of the boat. Pulled the dipstick and the oil was very clean. He's an older retired guy and used the boat every chance he could. This happened in early July and he he bought a newer boat within a few weeks

No oil pressure on 97 Monterey with 5.7

I'm picking up a new boat tomorrow. Found a 97 Monterey 210 cuddy with a 5.7gl volvo for a price I couldn't pass up. It's in good shape overall but the engine has no oil pressure ( the reason it is so cheap). The previous owner said he was out one day and everything was fine. He went to start...

    Cobra drive reseal how to?

Are there any write ups on how to reseal a cobra outdrive? I'm getting watering my drive. I replaced the drain plug and dip stick seals and just put a new o-ring on the top cover. I'm looking for a how to on replacing the seals at the input and output shafts.

    Rewiring trim/tilt motor control

After everything I've done on my boat the trim/tilt relay decided to crap out on me. The relays still click but I'm not getting any voltage on the wires to the pump. If I run 12v to the pump it works as it should.I haven't pulled the box yet to see if I can open it up and check it out...

    Still chasing leaks

After about a year and a half of work I've finally been able to get my boat in the water. I'm still trying to work out some kinks but each time out it gets a little bit better. One of the bigger issues I have right now is that I'm chasing leaks. The first one I found (and dealt with) was leaks...

Thought I'd show off my new build

Pilots like to say any crash you can walk away from is a successful one. I think that any shakedown cruise where you can return to port under your own power is a good one. The first time out wasn't perfect but it certainly could have gone a lot worse. The first time the boat went in I found a...

Thought I'd show off my new build

I'm so close i can almost taste it. I need a few more connectors and the wiring will be done. Then the dash and switch panel can get put back in. The last of the flooring, trim and bow ladder hatch are all in and look great. The engine seems to run great aside from the tach not working. I need...

Thought I'd show off my new build

IT"S ALIVE!!!! After two full days of work Went Overboard lives. After a slight hiccup of no spark I got the engine fired up and running and everything seems to run smooth. I ran it for a few minutes until it started to come up to temp. I don't have the lower exhaust couplers in place, they'll...

Thought I'd show off my new build

Well I'm back at it again and determined to be in this year. I'm pretty damn close already. A few weekends ago I sent the computer out to get tuned. I sent it out in the morning and that afternoon put the new starter in. I cranked it over (FINALLY) and had a horrible clunk when it was cranking...

Can't hold an idle and out of ideas

I've been trying to help my dad work on his 88 Bayliner Cierra. It has an OMC cobra with a Chevy 350 and at this point I'm out of ideas as to what could be his issue. We pulled the engine last winter because of a bad oil leak and a leak in the gas tank. The engine got a new oil pan, valve cover...

Are there two different outdrive lift bolts?

I finally put the outdrive on my boat today, first time it's been on since I owned it. When I put the bolt in that goes through the drive and both lift rams it was too long, by probably 1/4". Are there different bolts for the Cobra and King Cobra? I couldn't find the original bolt and not sure...

    I can't find my nuts

Does anyone know what size the lock nuts are that hold the outdrive to the gimbal housing are? I want to hang my outdrive and can't find my nuts.

    Possible wonky throttle

When I hooked up the throttle in my boat last week I noticed something that seems like it's out of whack in my throttle assembly. It feels like there are three detents in my throttle. There is the one when the throttle is straight up in neutral but 2 more about 45 degrees either side of neutral...

Thought I'd show off my new build

Last weekend I finally dropped the engine into my new boat. It's a 90 Four Winns Freedom 195. I picked it up a few months ago off a buddy for $450 on the trailer with an extra engine, 2 outdrives and a bunch of spare parts. The motor was a carbed OMC but needed a rebuild and the extra one was...

Need OMC 4.3 shifter and throttle pics

Does anyone have any good pics of the shifter and throttle linkage setup on a 90 OMC 4.3? They were off my boat when I got it and need to figure out how to make things work with my new setup. I couldn't really find any good pics on google image and can't seem to find anyone that has one locally.

    Resealing outdrive

I just picked up a new 90 Four Winns 195 and it came with a ton of extra parts, including two outdrives. Both were off the boat and although they look to be in good shape I waned to open them up some and check them out inside. I know the upper and lower unbolt but are outdrives something I can...

    So I've been thinking

A few months ago I picked up a 90 Four Winns Freedom 195. I got the boat and trailer for $450 with an extra engine, 4 sets of heads, extra outdrive and a bunch of other parts. The interior is shot but the floors and everything structural is in great shape. I've already cut all new seating and...
