    4.3lx merc slipping

    so i was causing today and hit a log going around 30. And then i noticed when i plane out the outdrive starts slipping. While the boat is out put it in drive while the engine is off and with a lot of force i can turn the prop by hand a little and the shaft spins with it .

    Stock 1997 174 Sei 4.3lx prop ?

    I honestly don’t know much about props but i brought the boat with a 19 prop and i don’t think it’s getting much performance from it . It goes around 35 at 4200 rpm but i haven’t had a chance to WOT to see top end speed .what propeller is oem with this boat i heard it was 14/23

    Low top end speed 4.3lx?

    hey so i have a 1996 Larson 174 sei with a 4.3lx with 400 hours with a 19 prop and i can only reach about 35 at 4200 rpm i can go higher on rpms i just don’t like to wot .is this a normal speed at such a high rpm ?

    4.3lx overheating

    i have a 1997 Larson 174 sei with a 4.3lx alpha one never had problems with it over heating and yesterday it would fluxuate slowly between 175 and the red line on the photo but most the time dropped back to 175 i don’t know if it’s something i should be worried about .fresh water thermostat...
