    Rusty u joints bravo 3

They do feel smooth How do you"match them up"? Take them out and go to the auto parts store? Assuming i would have to take the giant castle nut off to check this...

    Rusty u joints bravo 3

Both the u joints and gimbal feel buttery smooth, but clearly one of them is not if I am getting the growling described, right? Sounds like a fun job. Any chance there is more stuck in the exhaust? How would I know?

That is not a problem. Bilge gets wet but not that wet. I have read some saying that you can use automotive parts here for much less. Any youth to this? Suggestions on how to find the matching part? I was afraid i would need to replace the bellows...i did that on my last boat and have been...

    Rusty u joints bravo 3

Thanks for the response. Should I replace both since water has been in there? Do I need a full u joint assembly or is there some other way that is less expensive to replace them? On the transom side. Does that mean on the outside or inside the boat? I don't know what you mean here. Item 11...

    Rusty u joints bravo 3

I have a 97 rinker 232 with a 7.4 bravo 3 merc. I bought it late in the season last year and being honest I was lazy and didn't pull the drive last year during winterizing. I only put about 10 hours on it this year. I had intermittent growling with sharp turns under heavy load a few times when...

    Trailer tires lean

I'll try to get some videos later. There was no play when I replaced the bearings. There was play before.

    Leaf springs, so normal

    Trailer tires lean

That's why I replaced them in the first place. I will try again with new races this time. Old races looked good so I didn't replace them

    Trailer tires lean

Just put new ones in...the races looked good, but I will try to replace those and see if that works

    How would I check this?

    Trailer tires lean

Recently purchased a boat with a tandem axle shorelandr trailer. The back wheels lean when driving. They favor one side when going straight but will lean to either side (I.e. Camber in and out) when turning. I replaced the wheel bearings, but they still lean and cause a lot of tire wear. Fairly...

    Gas leaking from tank inlet

I think I will also keep it less than full. 75 gallons is a lot. Provably usually only use that much in a season, granted that was my old 4.3 motor. I'm sure to see an increase in fuel consumption with my 7.4

    Gas leaking from tank inlet

It is parked in my driveway that is mostly level, with the bow down toward the road, but I'd say the nose is probably up a bit from the tongue jack

    Gas leaking from tank inlet

There are no other openings in the hull or houses from the tank that I could find. Did some digging and saw someone say the vent for their rinker was in the fill cap that looked just like mine. So how would I avoid this in the future? I didn't fill the tank, so I'm not sure what process he did...

    Gas leaking from tank inlet

Even after running for a half hour (mix of wot, cruise and idle) it would be too full?

    Gas leaking from tank inlet

There are 2 hoses coming to this inlet. Is one of these supposed to be the vent hose or is it somewhere else?

    Gas leaking from tank inlet

New to me boat. 1997 232 captiva with a (I believe) gen VI 454 carbed motor. Got it home and it has sat for a few days and when I came home from work this morning I smelled gas as I walked past it then I saw this (see pictures). There are gas stains running down the boat and a dried pool on the...

    Rinker 7.4 b3 performance expectations

I have a 36 year old boat, so old boat probs aren't terrible new to me, but I do understand that. I'll be checking for soft spots and what not. Anything I particular you'd pay closer attention to the to the age? Good to know it's a good motor. I've heard great things about the 7.4 reliability...

    Rinker 7.4 b3 performance expectations

I ask because I have heard numbers from 45 to 60 mph. Torque to pull that many skiers would be fantastic. I don't have that many skiers, but still nice to have it available.

    Rinker 7.4 b3 performance expectations

Going to look at a boat tomorrow and wondered what kind of performance should be normal for a 1997 rinker 232 with a carbed 7.4 and b3 outdrive? I have the new boat checklist I will go over as well. Just looking for input from people with experience.
