I have a 12’ aluminum V hull. I have a 9.9 four stroke. Being a senior in my 70’s I find the motor heavy. The boat is rated for a 5-7.5 hp. Thinking of down sizing to a Mercury 6 hp. Fishing in a lake not far to my fishing spots. Should I be ok with that size motor. Thanks Bryan.

    Aluminum 12’

I have a 12’ aluminum boat. In excellent condition. As of now I have a 2015 mercury 5hp four stroke. I looked at the plate at the back and motor size 5 - 7hp. Would I be over doing it with a 9.9hp. It’s V shape on the front. I think I could plane

Yes I have lots of room. Just thought there may be a box out there that one may use. It will be placed on the opposite side of my 30lb minn koto. Thanks for the reply, Bryan

Not sure where to post this question. I just purchased a UB12350 Battery for my Kayak. Just wondering if there is someone out there that used a container to use for a battery this size. Thanks, Bryan.

Thanks, love kayaking but as the years creek up, my shoulder gets a bit sore after a couple of hours. I have a sitin 10 ft. Pelican and love fishing, so just going through the task of trying to mount the kayak. Thanks.

Just getting back on the forum. I would like to change my profile. I'm listed 340 zodiac cadet, I sold everything and now down to a 10 ft kayak with a 30 lb minn koto troll motor. Being a senior at age of 72, I find my new setup more manageable. Thks. Bryan
