    Merc 110 overheating

I have a 1969 9.8 hp Merc that runs great and has a strong stream out of the tell-tale. If I run at full throttle for too long it overheats and shuts down. It always restarts right away and cools down nicely if I run at a slower speed. Any thoughts?

    9.8 hp shift rod

While pulling the lower unit on my 1966 110 9.8 hp to replace the water pump the entire shift rod came out. After some penetrating oil and heat I got it to separate like it should have in the first place. Is there any easy way to get the top half back where it belongs? Also, is rod position...
