    So if I'm understanding correctly, I can purchase an 5.0 oil pan and gasket from the GM dealer as well as hardware if need, correct? I already installed the timing cover because the original pladtic one developed a 10-12" crack in the front that was pouring oil out thinking that would solve...

    Mercruiser 5.0 crankshaft front oil seal replacement

    It was a cracked timing chain cover- would dump several qts. of oil in 10-15 min. with severe oil pressure drop and I was baffled as the seal seemed improbable.... 12" crack along face of timing chain cover... ughhh! Replaced cover, sealed up, taking for a test run 2morrow am! Thanks!

    2008 Mercruiser 5.0 tks Alpha One serial#1A322719 Before I pull the harmonic balancer, is replacing the front oil seal pretty straightforward or are there any special issues to look out for? It's slinging oil from around the balancer/pulley, especially under load. Thanks.

    2008 Mercruiser 5.0 tks Serial#: 1A322719 Inspecting bilge pump and noticed the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) connector wasn't connected and having trouble finding the connector/wiring. You'd think it would be dangling near the sensor, but no it isn't. So, I'm in need of assist. with the CPS...
