    1990 Cobra outdrive with 5.8L gear oil

    I am preparing to do my service and winterize. I want to drain and change the gear oil. I understand that my unit originally used omc HI-VIS. I have been told by a local omc guy to use evinrude hpf gear oil. my question is who has a similar unit and what do you use? For how long? thank you

    OMC cobra 5.8L dies at idle

    I have a 1990 5.8. Boat will start on choke and run in neutral but dies when returning to idle or when at idle. If it is idling have no issue shifting into fwd or reverse.
