    Thanks SHSU, it's been a slow project. Here is a pic from a couple months ago. I scored that tower for $100, gonna make a shade canopy for it and rod holders. Pull the little ones around too, planning to hang my motor in next couple weeks. The old Shakespeare isn't cutting it🤦‍♂️

    What water separator do you guys recommend? I will be running a Johnson 150 and Johnson 9.9 2strokes. I plan to mix the fuel in the tank. Thanks

    @ShoestringMariner that sounds cool. I'd like to see what you come up with. I'm just waiting for it to warm up some. I cant get motivated at these current temps, the boat is in a unheated building at the moment

    I did my side panels in aluminum. Its 5200 to plywood that has been coated 3 times with spar urethane. I have rivet nuts in the floor, the panels are screwed into those with 10/32 ss screws. They can be removed easy to get to everything if needed. I'll get a better pic next time I'm working on it.

    @Moserkr I measured 1.5" past where it wanted to end. I cut that then shaved the sides off, all done with a jigsaw with Bosch aluminum blade. Put in a vise to bend with leather as a buffer. Then tapped into shape with rubber hammer before I drilled and riveted it. The aluminum jigsaw blades...

    Yep, exactly what I did. I get all my hardware at Ace Hardware because its just down the road and they let you buy per piece. I will get a pic tomorrow of the bolt. I haven't sealed it yet.

    Here is what I did. I did beef up bolts from factory. I used ss pan head allen and ground 2 sides to side in. Perforated side windows for the hell of it but should add some structural support I would think.

    Can anyone tell me the transom height on a 1977 SS 18ft outboard? I have a I/O and about to mount a offshore bracket, I found a basic equation but need that measurement to base it off. Thanks
