    1986 Johnson 110 VRO - Idle alarm

    I have a 1986 Johnson 110 VRO. I continue to have an alarm go off when idling. Most of the time it occurs when idling in neutral. It is a beep-pause-beep alarm. If I increase the RPM's the rate of the alarm increases. If I shut off the motor and restart, it does not come back, unless I idle...

    VRO alarm on 86 110 Johnson

    For some reason, the no-oil alarm frequently sounds when the motor is idling. It doesn't happen all the time, and never goes off under load, only during idle. I can shut the engine down and restart and it goes away.<br /><br />The oil tank is full and the bulb is hard. Any suggestions?

    I recently purchased a 1986 Bomber with a 110 Johnson VRO. There was no tachometer or speedometer on the boat, so I purchased both from Teleflex. Found out there was a wiring harness for the 86 Jonhson 110 VRO, so I ordered that as well.<br /><br />Hooked everything up according to directions...
