    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

I must have not sealed the holes that I made for the sacrificial nodes because I took in probably two or three gallons of water being out front 7am to 430pm. I'm going dumb about 5 gallons of water inside and see if I can see where the leak is.

    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

Checked the paint this morning. Other than being shiny, great match. I'm very happy with how the paint rolled on. My wife doesn't like the color, but I like how it's so nostalgic - the popular colors for that generation.

    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

I just wanted to get the corrosion on the bottom cleaned up, treated, and painted sooner than later. I hope to paint the sides this summer.

I thought I had pics in here where I sanded, scrapped, and cleaned up the bottom and then primer. I hit a light spray coat with etching for the bare spots and then Sherwin Williams oil based primer. Today I painted the bottom with the Sherwin Williams color match mix, and I'm real happy with the...

    Painting Aluminum boat

I had Sherwin Williams match my boat color with their oil-base enamel. It goes on a little thinner than Rustoleum, but I feel better about using it at the temperatures we'll be having here for the next week. I didn't want to put it off too long, because I want to get out fishing.

    Rotate Impeller on Occasion

Don't forget to change the air in your truck tires every so often, it goes stale. 😜

    Rotate Impeller on Occasion

Yeah, no, not flipping it over. It sat shutdown for 3 or 4 months. I bought new ones. The pics are the old ones I took out and won't be reusing. The pics show how the fins are bent over more on one side of the circle than the side 180 degrees opposite. I'm thinking for my future care to not...

    Rotate Impeller on Occasion

Yeah, I try to start them up and run them until they get warm every few months. I just happened to have let them sit for three or four months. But, then again, the fins being bent that bad means the impellers should have been replaced sooner. They were losing their flexibility.

    Rotate Impeller on Occasion

I went back and checked, I replaced the impellers March of 2022. That's almost 3 years ago. So I probably should have replaced them last year.

    Rotate Impeller on Occasion

Yeah, I'm just thinking that it staying in the same position for 3 or 4 months caused some of the fins to be bent over more than the others.

    Rotate Impeller on Occasion

I replaced my impellers on both my Suzuki and Yamaha today. I haven't started either since about October. I noticed the fins are more bent on one side. Im wondering if it would be a good idea to rotate the Impeller 180 degrees on Occasion. That way you trade off which fins are compressed on...

    Painting Aluminum boat

I've been using this method: https://forums.iboats.com/threads/1961-lonestar-flamingo-splashed-w-pics.376265/page-12#post-2645276 . I've always had really good results using Rust-Oleum Oil Base Enamel. It holds up very well. . But I have never applied it during the cold wet season. I want to...

    Stock Windshield Height?

Could someone just measure from their boat floor to the top edge of the windshield?

    Stock Windshield Height?

It's 54" from the deck floor to the top edge of the windshield. I'm just curious to see how much higher I am than a stock StarCraft 18 footer.

    Stock Windshield Height?

Yeah, I'm just curious how much higher it's going to be from what it was stock.

    Stock Windshield Height?

Oops, sorry, yes, it's a 18 foot 1967 Holiday. Here's the stock window it originally had but I forgot to get a measurement before I got rid of it. It was difficult to get out on the bow, so I bought one with a center door.

    Stock Windshield Height?

Does anyone have a measurement for how high the stock windshield is straight up perpendicular to the dash? I recently bought one from a different style boat and it's looking like I'm going to be at 24 inches straight up from the dash at the middle. I'm just curious.
