Hot cables and starter when cranking

Well it looks like the connections just needed to be tightened got it running and seems fine probably going to change the cables anyway thanks guys

Hot cables and starter when cranking

When I try to start my boat the starter turns the motor over intermittently and the longer I do this the worse it gets and the starter and the cables get hot especially the negative. Thought it was the starter so I replaced it and it still does it. It’s a 1985 Evinrude 70hp. Any help would truly...
