    I can get j4c and j6c but I just purchased the motor and the previous owner put new champion j8c’s so I don’t see any reason to change them if I don’t have too. Checked the gapped and they were at .030

    It’s not a gear case issue. It’s more like a slight mis fire that happens very occasionally. It happens both in gear and and in neutral.

    Well right now my 6hp won’t plane the boat without some weight in the front so I’d hope the 7.5 has a little more power to plane the boat out better and thus increase my mph atleast by 1-2. I’m currently getting 11mph with weight added to the front with the 6hp.

    What color should my gear oil looks like

    I’ve been using super tech lower unit oil which is yellow color oil. My question is what color would indicate a leak for this type of gear oil. What should gear oil look like after a running for a season? Does anyone have pictures for reference?

    Problem was solved. Needed a thermo stat and oem impeller. I used a China kit originally and the new Oem kit with sierra thermostat has it cooling great no steam. Thanks everything

    Imepeller key was installed. It pumps water great now compared to before. Made sure the pump was inserted into the exhaust tubing before sliding lower unit back up and bolting it on.
