spark from coil but not at plugs..

the hose cracked rather than melted and water did flow .. but you are correct, the portside riser has been getting considerably hotter..

spark from coil but not at plugs..

After getting a sparktester I could actually verify spark to plugs.. this led me to take one step back and look at fuel as the culprit .. I disconnected my fuel hose (which contains a garmin fuel sensor and an inline fuel filter ) and replaced with a hose with primer bulb to allow me to manually...

spark from coil but not at plugs..

as the exhaust hose broke I guess there was an elevated level of moisture in the engine compartment but it wasnt like it was dripping wet in there. Thanks for confirming my thoughts on the sensor, will go get a spark tester today at ”Biltema” .

spark from coil but not at plugs..

cap and rotor from last season, I understanding the light cannot say anything about the quality of the spark/ HV but at least indicate whether it’s there or not !?

spark from coil but not at plugs..

Hello fellow boaters, new problem with my 5,7 carb TBV … not sure about the correlation but last trip out the exhaust hose between Y-pipe and elbow cracked .. made it home with lid to engine room open to allow for exhaust to exit and not to suffocate the engine. Today I wrapped the cracked hose...

    Timing check 350 5.7l Carb

The jumping to 12v is what you do when you set initial timing with the "Delco EST Voyager "Distributor installed. (as opposed to the "Thunderbolt V" which you Ground as previously stated )

    Timing check 350 5.7l Carb

sounds like "TB V" without knock sensor !) Yes ground the purple/white wire to stop the "TB V "from adjusting timing while you set the base-timing by turning the distributor .

No fuel in carb despite several attempts to crank

From my understanding of the pickup module : if it fails to produce pulses ,no spark is generated which would cause rough running rather than lack of advance!?! I’ ve seen some threads on the net where people report having trouble getting their TB V out of the “base timing “ mode .. which I...

No fuel in carb despite several attempts to crank

so I’ve been trying to find a solution to why the engine’ behaving so difficult to start, hesitations at acceleration , initially I was suspecting it was related to carb and fuel.. To do things in the right order I got a timing light (and eventually the special distributor clampdown tool ) As...

No fuel in carb despite several attempts to crank

So I’ ve now run engine on external tank ,blown through the fuel tank vent and also replaced ASV. fuel is getting to carb so that’s no issue anymore. However Engine behaves hesitant when giving throttle going from idle to planing speed . From what I read this could be related to carb’s power...
