    I've noticed that when the outdrive is all the way down, that "unaerated" fluid is below the min line. Once the air purges it's up to the max. Should I try adding it little more fluid and see what happens? Also, like I already asked, Is it possible to suck in air but not have a leak??

    It's a brand new pump. Once the bubbles subside the fluid is still at max and the fluid is the Quicksilver "power trim and steering fluid". I used that in my old pump too.

    Chris, I replaced all the dash gauges this winter with a new Sierra set. (fuel, temp, oil, mph, tach, trim, volt, etc ..) In turn I made sure the new oil and temp senders were Sierra as well.     Well that makes me feel better. The water goes right to the bottom of the cylinders and the exhaust flow out the transom assy. is 3 times greater than the muffs.

    Update. I installed an OEM impeller. SAME PROBLEM. I then matched the new Sierra temp. gauge with a Sierra sender. NO teflon tape this time. Better results but still ran hotter than I like.     Update. Took the outdrive off and used the hose. Ran the motor for about 10-15 minutes. All is well. Normal readings all around. Rpm's between 600-1500. The gauge ran a little higher than the infrared thermometer but then I noticed I used teflon tape on the temp. sender. Let's see what happens...
