    Sorry, premature posting. The kit is fine, never-mind the post. This is normal. The 3rd photo shows some extra rubber that was not pulled out and it was just left over from the manufacturing process. It peeled right out. JOB DONE.

    I have not found any reason to believe the transom is bad. I am reluctant to drill holes. Is there another way to get an idea before that? This is an I/O. I have seen a moisture meter that is not invasive.
