    What control cables are these?

I am trying to figure out what kind of control cables these are. They came of an older throttle controller that I am trying to use on my project boat. I am hoping to buy some adapters to make my cables work with the old controller I have. Any one know what these control cables are or an adapter...

That's awesome I got to get some new seals and a new carbjet in my outboard before I am ready to get the boat out. Although we won't have open water here for another month.

    Slip Bobbers

If you can handle the quantity Alibaba is pretty good too. Although expect to order things in large quantities. Most of the time they are offered in quantities of 100 to 1,000 but they are a great price. I have been looking into mass buying tungsten ice fishing jigs then painting them or...

    Slip Bobbers

You make your own bobber stops? You know you could buy a 100 bobber stops from Temu for around 1.50. If you enjoy making them then by all means have fun but it if you are trying to save money it is hard to beat 1.50 for 100.

    Nobody fishing?

Couldn't agree with this more. I release almost every fish I catch. It is just fun to get out on the water and chase some fish. The tug is the drug.

Prepping the inside of a aluminum boat for sealant

Hey everyone! I am in the process of prepping the inside of my aluminum boat for a sealant like gluvit or coat-it. I am currently wire brushing the inside of the hull. Once finished should I use an aluminum etcher like a vinegar mixture then use the sealant? I am a bit lost at what the next step...

    1982 16ft McCready Rail/Mirro Rebuild

I managed to get the foam out. Do you think I need to wire brush the entire inside of the hull before using a dealer like gluvit? There is some paint in places in the bottom.

    1982 16ft McCready Rail/Mirro Rebuild

Alright I got all the foam removed from the boat. Although I do need to run a wire wheel over the leftover spots. I found that a scoring the surface of the foam and using a straight claw hammer of small pry bar really helps break it up. Also chiseled and scraping tools did a good job as well.

Increasing my small boat rod spread

Most people go wider when fishing extra rods rather than double stacking deep. In a narrow river however I think you are better off getting a second down rigger. You could get a 4th rod in use that way.

    Fish Finders

My experience with fish finders is after you buy one you immediately wish you bought a better unit. A good fish finder will but more fish in the boat. I would recommend watching Craigslist, next door, or Facebook market place for deals on a better unit. A lot of times at the beginning of the...

    1983 Force 50 hp Parts

Hey Everyone. I have a 50 hp Force outboard built in 1983 that I am trying to get running. The outboard looks pretty clean but I am in the process of changing the basics like the water pump, cleaning the carb, changing the fuel lines, changing spark plugs, and replacing throttle cables. Doe...

    1982 16ft McCready Rail/Mirro Rebuild

Currently, I have the floor of the boat pulled out. It was definitely rotting in a couple of places. I am in the process of pulling the foam out. I debated just adding foam and leaving what I had in but I am glad I decided to take it out. As I was removing it I found that it was saturated with...

    1982 16ft McCready Rail/Mirro Rebuild

Hello everyone! I am working on getting my first boat ready for the water. I ended up finding a 16ft aluminum semi v (I think) that has a Mirro decal on it but the HIN comes back as a McCready Railway that was made in 1982. It came with a 50 hp Force outboard made in 1983 and a 9.8 hp SeaKing...
