    Cleaning drain passages

Thanks for the info. For others that may need more in depth info, each compartment has a drain. The rear compartment where the shift rod is, has two drain holes. We used a thin piece of stainless steel that was from a windshield wiper blade and a drill to get through all of the solid debris...

    Cleaning drain passages

I tried stiff wire, compressed air and lightly cleaning with a long drill bit. I see that the middle and back compartments are exposed to water but is the front one that has the rod that gets attached with a allen head screw to the upper case supposed to have water inside of it? Waiting on my...

    Cleaning drain passages

I've got a 1976 Chrysler six horsepower two-stroke. The forward cavity is not draining. Does anybody have a clue how to locate the drain channel? Do I run a drill bit down? When the lower unit was separated it was full of water. Not the section where the oil is but above it. The oil looks great.

    1976 Chrysler/Force 6hp 2 stroke where to get new parts, manuals,etc.

Thanks topgun. Have you or anyone else found manuals online? What are the best/most helpful shop or owner manual companies? I see generic manuals for long range dates, like 1966-xxxx. Is there such things as manuals that are year specific?

    1976 Chrysler/Force 6hp 2 stroke where to get new parts, manuals,etc.

I was given a 1976 6hp Chrysler/Force 2 stroke for a backup/trolling motor on my 1976 Bayliner Liberty. The gentleman said he couldn't get it to run but for a couple seconds. After I got it back to the shop, I looked tried starting it and he was right. Pulled the flywheel and found he set...

Bayliner color charts for Liberty 2150

I emailed Bayliner. They said it might be Bittersweet and Ivory.

Bayliner color charts for Liberty 2150

I have a 1977 Bayliner Liberty model 2150. Looking for the colors to order Gelcoat repair kits. The color is a off white (ivory?) and rust color for the hull. My local Fiberlay store can mix the colors, but he just handed me a chart. Here is a picture of the chart against the boat.

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

    14 feet of 1/2" heater hose = 20 oz. 14 feet of 5/8" heater hose = 28 oz. donor heater core = 13 oz. total = 61 oz. 8% of 61 oz = 4.88 oz.

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

Let me talk this out here to understand this better. When the water heats up, it expands. The expansion tank can only allow for a specified amount of expansion. Your saying 6-8%? If I add the donor heater core and new hose volume, I need to keep it under the 8%? I'm not sure what to do...

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

My donor hydronic heater core has 1/2" and 5/8" lines. I read that the larger line would help to always keep the pressure lower on the outlet side. But that doesn't have to do with the expansion volume. Hmmm

Scott, Do tell. I will also do some research on that.

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

Bondo, I appreciate the encouragement with your answers. I made a loop with a clear plastic tubing and two 3/8" barb fittings. This helps me to simulate the proposed hydronic heater line. With one in the bottom coolant port of the heat exchanger and the other 3/8" port in the block near the...

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

Today we hooked up a pressure gauge to the coolant port on the rear of the block where it is the lowest part of the block and where the drain tube is hooked to. After removing the thermostat and turning the water pump with a drill, there was no pressure indicated on the gauge. Maybe I...

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

There is a functioning water temperature gauge also on the instrument cluster. Maybe a 12v solenoid valve inline with the proposed cabin heater hoses would make it so the operator could control the heat output and also for the summer months when cabin heat is not needed.

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

I looked at the factory manual again today and there is not a description for such a port.

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

There is a heat exchanger but it's attached over the water pump housing and there's no ports on the water pump. That's why I was looking at the block or head. If someone doesn't chime in that they've done it before, we just might have to do an experiment on the donor block. We could install a...

Adding hydronic cabin heat from a AQ140A engine

It didn't look like we could access any coolant ports on the water pump with the AQ140A engine. We found some plugs that go into various places on the block and the head. We didn't find any diagrams or photos online with others doing this modification. The plan was to run some heater hose up...
