    Sterndrive Gear Oil - Alpha 1 Gen 1 3.0 140hp

Hey all, I purchased this gear Oil (pic below) for my Merc A1-G1 Sterndrive. I didn't realize it, but it wasn't the blue colored gear oil like I had in it previously , I put it in anyhow. Is this ok? Is the blue gear oil better?

Thanks, It was wired incorrectly. The electric fuel pump wasn't getting any power, I ran the power lead to a ground instead of a positive lead. I just made the correction.

Engine runs for 1 minute and stalls, then starts with no problem. Merc A1G1 140 HP

Engine runs for 1 minute and stalls, then starts with no problem. Merc A1G1 140 HP

Does anyone know if the whole inline fuel filter has to be full with gas when running, and or does it have to be primed. That may be the issue too. I only see 1/4" of fuel in the filter while it's running.

Engine runs for 1 minute and stalls, then starts with no problem. Merc A1G1 140 HP

I just started up the boat today after installing a new water impeller, she runs for a minute and then stalls. Seems like a fuel issue, no doubt. I didn't replace any of the filters yet since last year, Im gonna replace all the filters shortly and see if that is the issue. I still have to do...

No water coming out of the exhaust on muffs

Everything looked good, no melting etc. I don't use a T Stat, so I guess that's one less thing to worry about with respect to clogging up there.

Some Play In Lower End Propeller Shaft Mercruiser A1G1 140hp

I just went side to side with it and noticed play, about a 10th of an inch or less. I'll try that today, as I'm waiting for the impeller kit to come. I just wanted to know if it was normal to have play.

No water coming out of the exhaust on muffs

Today I had the same problem you had, steam coming out from the center of the prop with the ear muffs on, I shut her down after a few minutes, the temp climbed to 175. I then took the lower end off and found my impeller was wiped out (pic below), and also oddly the water tube was laying in the...

Some Play In Lower End Propeller Shaft Mercruiser A1G1 140hp

I did my water pump today and noticed that the shaft (shown in photo) had some play when I removed the impeller housing and the bottom lower seal assembly under the water impeller housing, is this normal? Could the shaft bearings be shot because of that play?

Winterizing a Merc A1-G1 Block Question Antifreeze

There's two plugs on the exhaust manifold. One has a peacock, that seemed like it was sealed permanently shut by either the manufacturer or the owner prior. The other drain plug i took off and a lot of block water poured out. I think I'm in the clear now being I filled up the whole thermostat...

I removed the thermostat housing and it was dry, I also discovered there wasn't a thermostat. I then filled up the thermostat bellows channel area with Antifreeze, and filled it to the top of the housing, then put the thermostat housing back on... No AF came out anywhere as it stayed in the...
