    Sorry for the necro lol but it was appropriate :) Thanks to this thread and another on iBoats, I installed the carb from the Force 50 to my Force 40 today. Everything worked great! Picked up 4mph and +200rpm, running what seems to be 5800rpm, a little higher than it should be. I'm running a 15...

    Converting 1999 Force/Mercury 40hp to 50hp

    I tried the carb-only change and it didn't work, motor just didn't run right. I suspected the carb body was actually different (TC131A on the 40hp, TC134A on the 50hp). I found someone selling the TC134A on ebay for $90. Got it in, rebuilt it with a combination of two rebuild kits on Amazon...
