    I haven't had time to pull the distributor yet but I will today. Judging by the responses I've received it probably needs to be replaced so I'll most likely just go ahead and do that. I'll post how it goes and if it fixes my issue. Thank you

    ^ Yea what he said. The clamp down bolt is definitely tight and secure. The shaft doesn't move at all. It's only the head where the rotor and cap screw on to. I think I probably need a whole new distributor I'm just wondering if this is a normal amount of play. I don't have access to anything...

    I made a video of the distributor movement. It seems to just be the head of the distributor. The shaft that goes down into the block doesn't move at all. Is this normal movement or should I replace the whole distributor?

    Do you think the distributor, cam sensor or crank sensor would be affected by running premium gas? I find it's got to mean something that the only time the boat ran right was when I first put premium in it unless that it just happened to be that whatever electrical issue didn't act up that time...
