    Yes a broken wire. So everything up to the forward magnet pulled out with the prop shaft. How do I get forward magnet out?

    I believe the magnet is bad. When I apply power directly to the magnets bypassing the wire I can hear reverse engage but not forward. I have continuity from the forward controls in both forward and reverse to the magnets. When I measure ohms on magnets they are not the same

    I took the lower unit off. The wire looks good and it has continuity on both the blue and green wires.

    As far as volts go I have 12v to across blue and 10.8-11.5v on green at the knife switch location

    Ok they are not the same. I get no reading on the reverse (blue wire) which works and I get a reading on the forward (green wire). Around 12

    Ok. Well I did the first test wrong. When I switch the wires I only have reverse. Does that mean it is the forward shift coil?

    I'm not finding them in the back except where the plunge down to the lower unit. Not seeing a place to switch them. It there a way for me to do that by the forward controls?

    I have a 67 40hp rkl-29e on a 68 starcraft explorer 15ftish. It's a trihull of sorts. I haven't had the motor long. It starts and runs everytime no issues. It currently pushes the boat to about 23mph on the gps. Is that the top speed I should expect? If not, what should I be looking for...
