    I'm aware of that. However, it starts in reverse, when throttle in neutral position. I've checked the voltages at the knife connectors. And those check out. Therefore, the issue must be in the lower unit.

    The wires are sort of frayed that lead to my shift solenoid in my lower unit. Could be the cause my motor starting in reverse. If anyone has any hydroelectric shift motor kicking around lmk.

    Well, it spins clockwise. And the voltage going to the blue and green wires check out when switching the shift switch in the control box so the issue must be in the lower unit.

    Ok, the solenoid wires ate kind of frayed where it inserts to the solenoid so the newer lower unit I got has goot wires n a working solenoid. I'd like to keep my lower unit. Is there anything I should be aware of when replacing the solenoid.

    I'm located in guelph, they don't seem that simple when the shifting solenoids go way down into the gear chamber.

    So it starts fine once warmed up. However it starts in reverse and neutral does not work. Mechanic said solenoids in lower unit don't have enough resistance, 2 ohms instead of 5-6. Got another lower unit. Mechanic also said there power being supplied from somewhere that it won't shut off the...

    Don't know the model # but yea I switched the wires, put the proper type c gear oil in it, and ut is a 60 hp so perhaps it's a 1970

    Recently service the lower unit and impeller. Hooked everything back up n now it's very reluctant to start and whn it does its in reverse. The knife connection for the green and blue wires are good. Has anyone had a similar situation?
