    Actually the gear shift rod fit perfect, but the driveshaft spline ceal was in the way, so I used the old driveshaft instead. now it works :)

    So dismantle lower gear housing and change this. Will the upper rod come in the right place when connecting upwards to the upper rod from the engine?

    Hello. I got a West Bend / Chrysler 45 hp from 1966. Can I just mount the -79 gearhousing from impeller down on the old 1966? The gear shift stick is different.
