Just wanted to follow up... — the tool is from ANCEL. Quick question:Their shows support up to 2022 — does anyone know if 2023 models use the same protocols?

    Anyone else using an MR500?

Hey folks, Just wanted to share a quick write-up on a scan tool I’ve been using for the past few months—it’s called MR500 and I figured it might help others dealing with Yamaha or Suzuki outboards. A buddy of mine, who's way more engine-savvy than I am, recommended it when I kept getting...

2 stroke oil reserve tank over filling with fuel ???

It’s true—check valves tend to get stuck when they’re old. Might as well try swapping it out first; they’re not that pricey anyway.

    2017 Suzuki DF60AV PTT Motor

I once cheaped out and bought one off Amazon for like 90 bucks—said it was Japanese technology. Used it three times that first season and it locked up completely. Took it apart and found the gears inside were plastic. Ended up replacing it with a $150 one from a U.S. brand (can’t remember the...

1999 90hp Yamaha slow speed only

Clogged high-speed jets sound pretty likely, especially since it’s been sitting for 2 years. The jets could definitely be gummed up by now.

    1985 Suzuki Dt115, what's it worth?

These old two-stroke Suzuki outboards are pretty rare nowadays. If it starts and shifts fine, it’s probably worth around $600 on the used market. That said, it really depends on the condition — stuff like the casing, cooling system, etc.

1996 Yamaha 250 hard start after sitting on water for a while

You ain't alone in this mess. My old Honda 150 carbureted outboard did the same crap. Cold starts were smooth, but after sitting on the water for 30+ minutes? Total nightmare. Figured out the fuel was either evaporating in the carbs or cooking into vapor lock from engine heat. Here's what worked...

Yamaha vf115 ran fine first day, second day stopped and won't start

Yeah, that does sound pretty frustrating — especially since it ran fine the first day and then just died the next. I'm not a mechanic, but from what you described, those sensor readings (the shift position switch and the negative throttle value) definitely seem a bit off.
